Project Data

This is an inner-city infill project for a high-rise apartment tower in a high-priced oceanfront community in Vancouver. The site is only 150 meters from the public beach and sits right next to a small urban sculpture park. This project is proposed to replace an existing three-story apartment built in the 1950s. The new apartment tower is designed to be 17 stories for a total of 128 new 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartment units.

The architecture extends the balcony to a full corner overhang at all four sides of the tower, creating a vertical lift feeling. This rising sensation is reinforced by a group of narrow but deeply recessed windows that are in the middle module, which also add solidity and strength. The color tone is a neutral earthy pallet for a warm welcoming home on the beach.
