Dallas Bishop Arts District is known for its diverse nightlife, chic independent fashion stores, and colorful street art in Oak Cliff. This project is going to replace an existing library and be situated in the center of the district. When completed, this library will be LEED Gold rated and operates as a sustainable civic structure in the Dallas area. The library includes an artist studio, some gallery spaces, and a street-side cafe, which helps to build a connection between the library and the local community.
G+SAAN’s engineering office G and S provided building engineering services for this project. The design team used BIM to fully integrate the architectural design with building engineering systems including structural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing. The lead architect firm for this project was Oglesby Greene Architecture.
