Science & Technology Parks As Urban Form Generators

In recent decades, science and technology parks have been changing the ways urban forms are generated. From world’s very first science park built in 1950’s, these parks have opened up and are integrated with surrounding urban fabric. As they incubate new ideas and new technological innovation inside these parks, these parks are also shaping the urban forms as well.

Airport City‘s Logical Structure and Spatial Form

G+SAAN designers have been studying this economic phenomenon and focused on the design of airports and their surrounding regions. We have been involved in the master plan of many major airports’ aviation-led development as well as for the entire region, including Beijing’s Daxing Airport, Xi-an International Airport, Wuhu Airport, Datong General Aviation Airport, and finally Ethiopia New Airport.

Adaptive Reuse: A Powerful Way to Revitalize Urban District

Adaptive reuse refers to the process of reusing an existing building for a purpose other than which it was originally built or designed for. It is also known as recycling and conversion. Adaptive reuse is an effective strategy for optimizing the operational and commercial performance of built assets. G+SAAN designers constantly seek out opportunities to use adaptive reuse as a tool to solve urban degeneration problems.

Architectural Metaphorism

We like metaphors. We always like to explore the best ways to combine metaphors with other design treatments to a set of design problems. We experiment with ways to embed metaphors in our design to add meaning to the final design solution.
