This project is located in Zhen-an County in China’s Shaanxi Province. It is inside a lush green area hidden in the southern foothills of Qinling mountains. It is less than one hour drive from Xi’an. It has the best natural conditions for developing eco-tourism. It is predicted that Zhen-an will become a popular destination for vacation-seekers for people in Xi-an. There are already many spots in Zhen-an that have started tourism businesses.

In the middle of our project site, there is a natural stream running through. Our design uses this river to form two distinct zones for the resort: i.e. the activity zone and the guesthouse zone. In the activity zone, we designed a community swimming pool, a farm product exhibition center with a gardening courtyard, two glass greenhouses, a community center, and an open plaza. The guesthouse zone mainly includes resort villas.

Our design scheme takes the abundant local bamboo as the predominant architectural language to create a strong eco-friendly appeal. Here, bamboo is not only a building material but also a theme of culture and tourism. We want to apply bamboo’s beautiful charm, its gentlemanly demeanor, and all of its cultural symbology to this resort.
