YTO Skyhub is Taking its Huge Shape

With foundation work started in early 2022, YTO’s Jiaxing Skyhub is taking its huge shape along with the construction of Jiaxing airport’s new runways, taxiways, and apron spaces. This SAAN-master planned mega air cargo hub will be one of the largest in China. This huge cargo center will be the main tenant of Jiaxing’s newly expanded airport. Ambitiously named the YTO Skyhub, occupies a land area of 1454 Chinese mu (about 0.97 square kilometers). It has about a total of 1,310,000 square meters of cargo facilities and class-A warehouses. The total length of the main air cargo building is a whopping 581 meters. SAAN also planned a control tower for the cargo apron, an MRO center, and a bonded duty-free logistics park inside the YTO Skyhub.

In addition to the master planning, SAAN also provided architectural design services for this huge YTO Skyhub. There are a total of thirty-four (34) buildings with overall building areas exceeding 1,850,000 square meters. SAAN has been the AE team’s design architect during the construction process to date. This project has drawn national attention as one of the major infrastructure projects in the Yanzse Delta Region amidst China’s economic hardship. YTO is one of China’s largest express carriers logistics companies with its cargo airline fleet.
