The Sue & Frank Mayborn Natural Science & Cultural History Museum was built inside the Baylor University campus in Waco, Texas. The new museum sits along the Brazos River, across the river from McLane stadium, in a wooded area. The museum program included a children’s museum, a 200-seat theater, exhibit spaces, classrooms, offices, labs, and storage.

The museum has a long history that dates back to the 1850s when Baylor University professors began collecting teaching materials to help students understand biology, physics, chemistry, and geology. Recognizing this tradition, we gave the museum a neo-Georgian architectural style to maintain Baylor’s architectural heritage and offer museum visitors a truthful experience in witnessing the school’s history and its academic boundaries in exploring the past and the future.
