This project is the newly proposed community center for the master-planned low-density neighborhood of a rural community near the west Texas city of Amarillo. The center includes basic neighborhood service facilities such as a coffee shop and a convenience store, a fitness center, a community meeting hall, a preschool, and a postal center. It is designed as a community center for the residents.
We designed an internal courtyard to organize the relatively quiet functions such as preschool and reading rooms. Shops and the postal center are placed at the perimeter with a covered arcade. Fitness spaces are placed conveniently at the back end of the building with quick street access.

To blend with the styles of local residential buildings, we gave the architecture a refined new colonial style with red brick walls, a rough cobblestone base, and elegant bay windows. The top-level meeting hall has a vaulted high ceiling, where we have inserted dormer windows to add to the interior space volume and to create a commanding main facade element for the overall character of the community center.
